Montgomery County Democratic Party representatives Courtney Frost-Tadlock and Griffin Winkworth attended an event on Saturday at Rice University that focused on encouraging millennials to run for public office.
The event included dynamic speakers such as Mike Floyd, an 18 year old high school senior who is running for the Pearland ISD Board of Trustees. Several people announced their intention to run for office, including local progressive Angie Hayes. Hayes will be running against Sarah Davis for House District 134.
The event featured a presentation by Annie’s List and also included information about becoming a precinct chair. Representatives were also present from the Harris County Republican Party, Fort Bend Democratic Party, and the Harris County Democratic Party. Frost-Tadlock and Winkworth signed up several new volunteers for the Montgomery County Democratic Party.
