Become a Precinct Chair
We have several precincts without a precinct chair and we would like to get those filled. You can see the list of vacant precincts here and you can use the link at the top of the page to check what precinct you live in. Here is a link to a precinct chair handbook that goes into detail about some of the responsibilities involved in this position. Precinct Chairs serve on the Executive Committee of the local Party and play a central role in helping us move forward.
Assist a Precinct Chair
We have precinct chairs who need help from folks to do phone banking and VAN work in their efforts to mobilize democrats in their precinct and help us update our contact information. We are also looking for people to adopt empty precincts in an effort to recruit a precinct chair. We can provide you with a script and a call list of friendly democrats.
Party Committee Opportunities
The Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee consists of several different subcommittees, each headed up by a subcommittee chair. These subcommittees are responsible for holding separate meetings to discuss and tackle the issues facing their group. Additionally, all subcommittees will work together with the party on large-scale outreach projects within the county. You can find a list of the current subcommittees here along with a general description of what is involved with each one.
The Communications Committee
The purpose of the Communications Committee is to facilitate Party interactions with the public through the use of traditional communication methods (e.g. press releases & media events) as well as digital communications (e.g. website & social media outlets). The Communications Committee assists the local Democratic Party in advancing the party’s message and principles and has direct oversight of the Party’s media presence in conjunction with the officer board.
The Finance Committee
The Finance Committee serves as the fundraising arm of our Party. The members of this committee will work with the committee chair and Party officers to plan fundraising events and manage our sustaining membership program.
Headquarters Volunteers
We have a headquarters in Conroe that is staffed solely through our volunteers. We are open 10:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday. We have 2 shifts you can sign-up for. The morning shift is from 10:00am to 1:00pm and the afternoon shift from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. You can find the current schedule of office volunteers here. We are looking to have at least 2-3 people per shift. If you have some time during the day to volunteer, we would love to have your help.
Run For Public Office
We are looking for potential candidates to run for office, especially in 2018. If you have any interest in running, now is the time to start preparing. Fill out the form here and we will follow up with you shortly.
Party Leadership Positions
We have open positions for both the LGBTQ and Hispanic representative on the Senior Advisory Council. The Senior Advisory Council makes the day-to-day decisions within the Party outside of our quarterly County Executive Committee meetings. If you are a member of either of these communities and you would like to take a more active role in the direction of our Party, please consider applying for either of these positions.

You can also support our local party by becoming a sustaining member. We have several different donation levels and would greatly appreciate your support. Our local party doesn’t receive any money from the state or national party, so we operate solely through the support of our members. Find out more information about becoming a sustaining member here.
