Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following
statement:
“The Texas Democratic Party applauds the League of United Latin
American Citizens, the Texas chapter of the League of Women Voters, and
the brave individuals who stepped up to fight back against Governor
Abbott’s clear attempt at voter suppression. Cutting these mail-in
voting locations was wrong and done solely to attempt to steal the
election from the rising Texas electorate. A county, like Harris County,
with more than 4.7 million Texans should have more than one hand
delivery location. Limiting counties like Harris is a desperate
Republican attempt to hold onto power.
“The Texas Democratic Party encourages every voter to go to
MyTexasVotes.com [1] to find voting information. The only way to defeat
voter suppression is at the ballot box. We will never stop fighting to
protect every Texan’s right to vote. Now is the time to come together
and show Governor Abbott and the rest of the Texas Republicans that when
we vote, we win.”
